Draw and salvation: 1-1 against Catania, Samp stays in Serie A

Objective reached. We would have definitely preferred to celebrate it in a
different way and in a different atmosphere but we did our part.
Sampdoria will play in Serie A next season too. In such a strange
and unreal evening, strongly conditioned by the accident that hit
Genoa, its harbor and its heart, the blucerchiati
obtained a 1-1 drew against Catania and – with the coincidental
victory of Udinese against Palermo – they get the mathematical
salvation at 39 points (actually 40 without the penalization) two
matches before the end of the championship.
