Samp Women lose 2-1 to Milan
Sampdoria lost their second successive league game as Milan came from behind to win 2-1 on Saturday. Sara Baldi gave Antonio Cincotta’s side an early lead with an outstanding solo goal. With just three minutes on the clock, she latched onto Stefania Tarenzi’s flick-on, lifted the ball over her nearest marker before doing the same to the Milan keeper, giving herself the simple task of putting the ball into the net.
Milan however hauled themselves level just minutes later, as Kosovare Asllani finished first-time from Valentina Bergamaschi’s cross. The Swedish striker then put her team in front after the interval, producing another first-time finish, this time from Kamila Dubcová’s low ball.
After the upcoming international break, Doria will have an opportunity to bounce back when they play Juventus in Bogliasco on Sunday 16 October.
