Rincon: “We want to show we’re a top side”

New recruit Yoreli Rincon’s main attributes include her technique and pace. The Colombia captain, who has played at four World Cups and the Olympics, is idolised in her home country and is a role model for all girls who want to take the same path as her into the world of football to follow. The beautiful game has truly turned the world into her oyster, with stints in Brazil, Norway, USA and Sweden during her career to date.

The 28-year-old’s first taste of Italian football came at Inter and she is now at Sampdoria Women, where she is determined to enjoy herself and entertain the club’s fans.

“Everyone in Colombia knows Sampdoria,” Rincon told the club’s media channel in Bogliasco. “The club is very well-known. It’s President Ferrero’s dream for the team to have a good season. It’s a challenge and we want to show that we’re a top side.”
