Technical drills ahead of Friday friendly against Ligorna

The Sampdoria first-team squad took to the training pitch in Bogliasco on Thursday morning to continue preparations for the second half of the league season. Dejan Stankovic and his staff led a training session focusing on technical activations, possession, aerobics and a small-sided game.

Omar Colley continued his recovery from flu, while Manuel De Luca and Harry Winks trained individually. Andrea Conti, Fabio Quagliarella and Ignacio Pussetto kept up with their respective recovery programmes. After enjoying a few extra days off to recover following his commitments with Morocco at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, Abdelhamid Sabiri is expected to return to Genoa later on Thursday.

A friendly match against Serie D outfit Ligorna is scheduled to take place on Friday morning. The match will be staged behind closed doors due to safety concerns linked to the ongoing works to modernise the training ground.
