Qatar 2022: Sabiri’s Morocco advance after winning Group F
Abdelhamid Sabiri’s World Cup dream with Morocco will continue at least until the last-16 stage after they overcame Canada 2-1 in their final group match.
The result means Morocco finish top of Group F with seven points, ahead of second-placed Croatia, who go through on five points following their 0-0 draw with Belgium.
Sabiri started the game at Al Thumama Stadium in Doha and was replaced by Selim Amallah in the 65th minute.
Morocco will now face Spain in the round of 16 in what will be their second appearance in the World Cup last 16 after Mexico ’86.
