Giampaolo: “Salerno a good test”

Samp started the season with two home games against Atalanta and Juventus and on Sunday will be heading away for the first time in 2022/23, taking on Salernitana. Marco Giampaolo gave a press conference on the eve of the clash:

“We picked up a draw against Juventus and this has given us momentum. We’ve put in two good performances this season against two tough teams. These fixtures took a lot out of us both physically and mentally and now we’ve got to manage our workload over the next week in which we’ll be playing three matches.”

“We’re focused on tomorrow’s match. It’ll be the first time this campaign we’ll be up against a team of a similar standard. It’s almost like the points count for more and we’ll have to approach it with this in mind. It’s not going to be a pretty game and we’ll have to dig deep. It’ll show us what we’re made of.”
