Segovia: “Samp are the right team for me, I’ll give everything”

Telasco Segovia is living the dream right now. The youngster touched down in Italy on Sunday afternoon before attending his first Primavera match against Verona. He had his medical on Monday and experienced the drama of the 0-0 stalemate between Sampdoria and Juventus at the Ferraris. A first taste of the Mugnaini was in store on Tuesday as part of an endless run of emotions for the 19-year-old Venezuelan midfielder, who has joined the club from Deportivo Lara and is already making waves with the Vinotinto.

“Samp are a club with so much history,” he explained in his first interview. “It’s my first taste of European football and I’m confident. I have lots of expectations and I know I’ll have to give my all for this jersey.

“I feel Samp are the right team for me in terms of my development and future. One of my team-mates at international level, Tomas Rincon, also plays here and I’m sure he’ll help me adapt.

“I’m a dynamic midfielder who’s good at playing long and through balls. I also like breaking into the box. I’d say those are my main attributes. I hope to repay the club and the fans for the faith shown in me.”
