Candreva looks forward after “deserved win”
Sampdoria turned in an excellent performance at Empoli on Sunday to walk out comfortable winners. The Blucerchiati fully deserved all three points, which were earned with real desire. Antonio Candreva, who laid on an assist for Francesco Caputo’s first goal before getting one of his own, shared his thoughts after the 3-0 win.
“It was a deserved win,” he said. “We kept up what we’d shown in the previous games but it’s all in the past now and we need to turn our focus to Thursday, when a tough match awaits.”
“The team is training well during the week but we’ve also got lots of room to improve. We want to have a positive league campaign and achieve something we can be happy with. There’s still a long way to go.”
On his goal, Candreva added: “It was nice and I’m glad it helped us put the game to bed, because we’d turned in a good performance. I’m dedicating the goal to two people. Firstly to Allegra and then to my father.”
