Adrien Silva: “We could and should have got more than a point”

Adrien Silva expressed his dissatisfaction after Sampdoria were made to settle for a 1-1 draw at Benevento on Sunday lunchtime.

“We could and should have done more today,” said the Portuguese. “At the end of the day we’ve got a point, which is always better than nothing, but that’s not our mentality. We want to win every time we play. We didn’t succeed today so the only thing we can do is improve ahead of our next game.”

Silva pinpointed the team’s response to losing possession as one area in particular that needs to improve.

“We weren’t able to reorganise well when we lost the ball, which happened too much in the second half,” he said. “Benevento created some good chances on the break and Audero did very well to make saves. He kept us in the game, enabling us to secure a point. Let’s look ahead now.”
