“We need to work hard and improve to pick up points,” says Ekdal
Albin Ekdal’s first goal for Samp will not be remembered for having earned the team points, but it was an indication of how the side improved during their clash with Milan on Sunday.
Speaking after the game, he said: “I can’t explain the difference in performance between the two halves. We put in an excellent second-half display, creating lots of chances.
“We could have scored twice – we might have got a penalty too. However we didn’t and we need to work hard and improve to pick up points.
“We’d have deserved a draw. Yes, I got my first goal for Samp but I could have scored that one at the end. I can’t be satisfied when we don’t pick up points.
“We need to improve in many areas, despite our good second-half performance. Now isn’t the time for talking but for picking up points.”
