Candreva: “I bring experience, passion and positivity”
Antonio Candreva has revealed the reasons behind his move to Sampdoria and his hopes for the future in an exclusive club interview.
The Italy winger joined last week after Massimo Ferrero and Claudio Ranieri made it clear how determined they were to bring him to Sampdoria.
“The president was a determining factor, as was the coach and Fabio [Quagliarella] too. I hope I can help him score lots of goals this year,” the 33-year-old said.
“I want to perform for them, for myself and for Sampdoria. I believe that I bring experience, passion and positivity.
“Sampdoria are a club with great history and an illustrious past – last year’s league showing was not worthy of that.”
Candreva also spoke about his Italy aspirations and desire to see the Blucerchiati faithful in the flesh.
“Representing your country is a unique, magnificent thing. I’ll focus first on Sampdoria and then on the national team, which is the dream of any player.
“I can’t wait for the fans to be able to return to the stadium. When I came here as an opponent the atmosphere was always red hot. Now I’m on your side I can’t wait to celebrate with you all.”
