Double session with president Ferrero in attendance

With Sunday’s Serie A curtain-raiser against Juventus fast approaching, Massimo Ferrero popped in to the training ground to pay the team a visit on Wednesday. The president – accompanied by Carlo Osti and Riccardo Pecini – spoke to the players in the centre of the pitch before training began.

In the morning the lads were split into groups for strength work and technical drills while after lunch they did a warm-up and played a series of small-sided training games.

Manolo Gabbiadini meanwhile worked on his recovery in the pool (morning) and gym (afternoon).

Albin Ekdal did personalised aerobic exercises.

The team will next train on Thursday morning.
