Yoshida keen to kick on after debut
Sunday’s win over Verona is a match Maya Yoshida won’t forget in a hurry. It was both his first game for the Blucerchiati and his first competitive match behind closed doors.
“I was waiting for a long time to make my debut,” he said after the game.
“Today I was sure I was ready to play. We’ve picked up a massive three points today and we keep going,” the defender continued.
“I’m sure I’m going to play much better, step by step. I’m already feeling much better since I joined the club.”
As for the situation with the Coronavirus, he said: “We cannot change anything. We didn’t know whether the Parma game would be on or not, but I was very focused on the game against Verona.
“Hopefully things settle down as quickly as possible, and we can enjoy calcio.”
