Linetty: “Everyone played well”

Karol Linetty put in an all-action performance in Samp’s 5-1 win over Brescia on Sunday, covering lots of ground, scoring a decisive equaliser and providing the assist for Samp’s crucial second goal.

Speaking after the game, the Polish midfielder said: “This was a very important game. We were at home against Brescia, who are close behind us. We’re now five points ahead of them.

“We’re happy because everyone played well. We could have scored more in the first period with a bit more luck, but we did that in the second period.

“The team did a lot of running – we stayed compact and focused. But we need to look at where we slipped up, because we shouldn’t be conceding from corners.

“We need to be focused in our next game, against Lazio, who are always tough to play against.”
