Ramirez: “Let’s build on the goal. The result shows we’re still alive”

Gaston Ramirez called for Sampdoria to build on their last-gasp equaliser against Lecce on Wednesday night as they look to continue to pick up points in the coming weeks.

The Uruguayan headed the Blucerchiati level in second-half stoppage time after coming off the bench at half time.

“The point gives us some confidence during a tough spell,” said Ramirez after the game. “We have quality and we know we need to do more, but this team is still alive – this result shows that. Now we go to Ferrara and if we play the way we know how, we can do well.”
