European qualifiers: Jankto’s Czech Republic stage comeback to beat England
It was a night to remember for the Czech Republic in Prague as part of their UEFA EURO 2020 qualifying campaign. Sampdoria’s Jakub Jankto started the match, performed well and was shown a yellow card before eventually being withdrawn in the 82nd minute to be replaced by Jan Kopic. Jaroslav Silhavy’s side came from behind to beat England 2-1 and move level with the visitors at the top of Group A on 12 points. Harry Kane silenced the Sinobo Stadium after just five minutes from the penalty spot, only for Jakub Brebec to level the proceedings just four minutes later. Substitute Zdenek Ondrasek notched the winning goal in the 85th minute to send the home fans into raptures and claim a crucial three points for the Czechs.
