Gabbiadini: “Amazing to score, our attitude was the difference”
Manolo Gabbiadini bagged the decisive goal as Sampdoria beat Torino 1-0 at a rain-battered Marassi on Sunday afternoon.
After the game, the match-winner admitted he couldn’t even remember the goal itself.
“It was a great feeling, but I can’t remember how it happened,” said Gabbiadini. “It was a bit of a strange dynamic. But the officials confirmed it so it was fine. Once we were 1-0 up, we relaxed a bit. We did well in the first half too, but we weren’t able to take our chances. We did well to keep the match in the balance, though.”
Since changing system, Samp have turned in a decent showing against Napoli and now beaten Torino.
“The attitude was the difference, not the system,” stressed Gabbiadini. “We need to focus on football. There is unity in this group and we’ve shown that today. We’re happy. Fiorentina will be a tough game but we’re aware of what we can do and we have more confidence. We need to be more clinical in front of goal when we get a chance. Our aggression and focus were key today.”
