Wins for Ekdal and Chabot with Sweden and Germany U21

Albin Ekdal and Julien Chabot tasted victory with their national teams in the first round of international fixtures on Thursday.

Ekdal played 63 minutes as Sweden brushed aside the Faroe Islands in Euro 2020 qualifying, with all four goals coming in the first half (Isak 12, 15, Lindeloef 23, Quaison 41) in Torshavn.

The Swedes sit second behind Spain in Group F going into Sunday’s Scandinavian derby with Norway in Solna.

Julian Chabot meanwhile played the first half for Germany U21s as they defeated their Greek counterparts 2-0 (Nmecha 25, Dorsch 58) in a friendly in Zwickau – the ideal warm-up ahead of their Euro 2021 qualifier away to Wales on Sunday.
