Sampdoria pay Easter visit to local children’s hospital
Autographs, smiles, photos, a playful pinch on the cheek, and the traditional delivery of Sampdoria chocolate eggs. Sampdoria’s regular visit to the Giannina Gaslini paediatric hospital in Genoa Quarto was all of this and more. It is an occasion to bring a few moments of joy and calm to the children who are suffering and are involved in battles that are far more important than those that take place on a football pitch.
A regular event since 1978, the club’s leadership, technical staff and players did not want to miss the chance to offer their Easter greetings to the patients and their families. As always, everyone was given a warm welcome by the hospital’s president Pietro Pongiglione and the general manager Paolo Petralia.
Before the official event, club president Massimo Ferrero, Carlo Osti and the team visited children in the orthopaedic and surgical departments, who could not make their way to the hospital’s main hall, for yet another moment of happiness and sharing.
