D-day -2: Andersen and Tavares back in training. Last session and news conference on Saturday

Sampdoria were back at the training ground on Friday with the Derby della Lanterna now just two days away.

After a session in the video room, the team warmed up then ran through a series of technical and tactical drills with Sunday’s opponents in mind.

Joachim Andersen and Junior Tavares were back in full training with the rest of the squad having worked separately the last few days.

Ten youth players were drafted in to make up the numbers: Goncalo Cabral, Davide Canovi, Alessandro Casanova, Masimiliano Doda, Tommaso Farabegoli, Simone Giordano, Tommaso Maggioni, Giuliano Maglie, Joao Nobrega and Marco Perrone.

Edgar Barreto did personalised fitness and technical work as he continues his recovery programme.

The Blucerchiati will put the finishing touches on their derby preparations on Saturday morning, after which, at 13:00 CEST, Marco Giampaolo will sit down with the media to preview the match.
