Sala hails perfect team performance

Jacopo Sala produced a man-of-the-match performance against Parma on Sunday. Solid in defence but eager to push forward, the Doria man laid on two key passes for Dennis Praet, allowing him to set up the goals scored by Gianluca Caprari and Fabio Quagliarella.

After his all-action display, the defender commented: “It was a great win. We knew it would be hard but we did well to limit their counter-attacks, ultimately getting the goals we needed.”

Sala was clearly buoyed by Marco Giampaolo’s positive comments in the pre-match news conference on the eve of the game.

“I’m grateful for the boss’s comments about me but I prefer to focus on what the team is doing. I think we produced the perfect performance against Parma. The result was never really under threat. If we play like this, we can compete with anyone,” he said.
