Audero not letting his head drop: “Defeat hurts but we’ll bounce back”
Football can be a cruel game sometimes: despite keeping the Inter out for 90-plus minutes, Emil Audero couldn’t do anything about Marcelo Brozovic’s fierce strike right at the death.
“The loss hurts,” began the Blucerchiati goalkeeper, who has conceded the fewest goals in Serie A so far this season. “It’s tough losing like this, especially after matching them for the whole game. Both sides had chances, a draw was a fair result.”
There were four goals scored at the Marassi yesterday, but only one counted: VAR ruled out two of them and another was disallowed by assistant referee Marco Guida.
“They did a good job,” Audero commented. “We were convinced about Asamoah’s strike, but Nainggolan’s came as a surprise.
“We’re disappointed about the result; we were just missing something and then conceded right at the end. What now? We need to react like we did against Udinese. We picked ourselves up back then and we want to do that again.”
