Giampaolo happy with a point after ‘assured’ display

Marco Giampaolo declared himself happy after a game of two halves saw Samp and Fiorentina leave Marassi with a point apiece.

“It was a tough match,” the boss told Sampdoria’s Official Media after the midweek fixture. “Fiorentina are a very good side and they showed that tonight.

“We played well ourselves and produced an assured, mature display.”

The games are coming thick and fast now with Inter due to visit Genoa on Saturday.

“We always play at a high tempo,” Giampaolo continued. “We must make sure we recover well so that we don’t have to alter our style of play – especially against a team like Inter.”
