Nations League: Bereszynski and Linetty involved as Poland hold Italy
Poland could be forgiven for feeling a little disappointed as they were made to settle for a draw against Italy at the Stadio Dall’Ara in Bologna on Friday night.
The Poles proved to be tough opposition for Roberto Mancini’s Italy in this UEFA Nations League Group 3 (League A) clash, with Zielinski handing the visitors the lead on 40 minutes only for a Jorginho penalty 12 minutes from the end to salvage a point for the hosts.
Bartosz Bereszynski played the full 90 minutes in Bologna and was an important part of his team’s play in both defence and attack. Karol Linetty came off the bench on 66 minutes, taking up a position on the left side of central midfield.
Poland take on the Republic of Ireland in Wroclaw on Tuesday 11 September in a friendly match.
