Jankto: “Debut goal was a birthday present for the fans”

There could hardly have been a better debut for Jakub Jankto as he scored the match-winning goal against Viterbese, giving his new fans reason to celebrate on the day of the club’s 72nd birthday.

“I always score on my debut,” the Czech midfielder grinned. “I’m happy to have done it here in front of these amazing fans. It was a birthday present for them.

“Now we need another result here next week [against Fiorentina] because we want to get off to a good start in the league.”
