Get to know Tavares: “I want to make the Sud proud of me”
Samba, tattoos, football and much more: this is the life of Junior Tavares. The ex-Sao Paulo left-back from Brazil arrives in the Blucerchiati colours burning to grow as a player and establish himself in Italian football.
“Sampdoria is a great club, a new level in my career,” he assures us. “I’d like to thank the Club President and all of the club for the opportunity they’re giving me: Toninho Cerezo was crowned a champion here, I hope I can become the same.”
“The fans ask me about my tattoos: I have plenty, but my most important one is the one on my cheek, which is dedicated to my son; he goes mad for Batman,” reveals the native of Porto Alegre, who before his 22nd birthday is already father to a four year old son.
“I know that the fans in the Gradinata Sud create a fantastic atmosphere: I can’t wait to get out there on the pitch, feel their support and make them proud of me.”
