Tests confirm Regini ACL injury, Ramirez chest contusion
Vasco Regini and Gaston Ramirez have undergone tests after both sustained injuries in Saturday’s friendly match against Feralpisalo.
The defender was initially examined in Temu by Amedeo Baldari and club orthopaedist Claudio Mazzola. He then travelled to Genoa where on Sunday morning he underwent diagnostic tests at Laboratorio Albaro under the supervision of professor Enzo Silvestri. The results confirmed Regini has injured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. He will have surgery in the next few days before initiating a rehabilitation programme.
Ramírez complained of chest pain and had difficulty breathing after yesterday’s game. Scans carried out at Edolo hospital ruled out any broken ribs but confirmed heavy muscle contusion in the chest area. The Uruguayan has been told to rest for a few days.
