Coppa Italia 2018/19: Ascoli, Viterbese or Rende lie in wait for Sampdoria

Sampdoria’s potential opponents in the third round of the Coppa Italia 2018/19 are beginning to be narrowed down.

The winner of Viterbese Castrense v Rende in the first round on 29 July will face Ascoli in the second round on 5 August. The victor of that tie then faces a trip to Marassi on 12 August to face the Blucerchiati.

Looking ahead to potential fourth-round opponents in December, Doria will play one of Sambenedettese, Union Sanremo, Spezia or SPAL. The Round of 16, to be held early in 2019, could throw up Sampdoria v AC Milan.
