Giampaolo: “We’ll go to AC Milan and give it everything we have”
Marco Giampaolo cut a satisfied figure after his Sampdoria team beat Hellas Verona 2-0 at Marassi on Sunday to move up onto 41 points for the season.
“We knew it wasn’t going to be easy against Verona, but I felt good about it,” he said, speaking after the game. “We had to win and we have done – this is a big three points for the future. Now we’ll go and give it our all against AC Milan.”
The Samp boss also spoke about the support at Marassi, where there were a few rumblings in the direction of Ricky Alvarez on Sunday.
“The fans are extremely well mannered and sporting,” he began. “There are still a few mumbles about Ricky Alvarez holding onto the ball for too long, but I really rate him as a player and a man. It’s difficult to play in a hostile atmosphere. I hope he gets the same support as the rest of the team because he deserves it.”
