Ramirez praises Samp support, eyes Fiorentina clash

It was a night to remember for Gaston Ramirez on his first start at the Ferraris. The Uruguayan showed touches of real class in the season-opener against Benevento and laid on the assist for Fabio Quagliarella’s winning goal.

Speaking exclusively to Samp TV after the game, he said: “When you get off to a winning start in the league, your work improves.”

“I’m really happy – the fans are fantastic,” he added.

“They gave us all of their support, from beginning to end. They were like a twelfth man for us.”

“Fiorentina? We need to keep working – there’s a lot we need to improve on but we want to perform.”
