Bereszynski, Linetty and Kownacki earn Poland call-ups
Sampdoria’s three Polish stars have all been called up to represent their country in forthcoming 2018 World Cup and U21 Euro 2019 qualifiers – Bartosz Bereszynski and Karol Linetty for the senior side and Dawid Kownacki for the Under-21s.
Bereszynski and Linetty have been named in Adam Nawalka’s squad for Russia 2018 qualifying matches against Denmark and Kazakhstan next month.
The Poles are flying in Group E and hold a six-point lead over Montenegro and Denmark after six games but they’ll face a tricky test in Copenhagen on 1 September. They’ll then host the Kazakhs in Warsaw on 4 September.
Poland U21 boss Czeslaw Michniewicz – having come to see Kownacki during pre-season – has called up the striker for their opening match in qualifying for Euro 2019, to be held in Italy and San Marino. The Polish youngsters kick off against Georgia in Gori on 1 September.
