Benevento tactics the focus on Friday. Giampaolo news conference on Saturday

That’s another session down – which means we’re one day closer to our Serie A opener against Benevento. The Blucerchiati continued with preparations for Sunday’s meeting in Marassi with a morning training session on Friday, Marco Giampaolo putting the lads through a series of specific tactical drills with their next opponents in mind.

Fabio Quagliarella and Andrea Tozzo rejoined the group for today’s workout.

Maxime Leverbe worked separately while Patrik Schick pushed on with his pre-season training programme and Emiliano Viviano carried on with his recovery plan. Dodo Pires rested again following his wrist fracture on Wednesday.

The squad will report back for training on Saturday morning, after which – around 12:30 CEST – Marco Giampaolo will sit down with the media for his first pre-match press conference of the new season. As usual we’ll have updates on Twitter and by subtitled highlights on Samp TV afterwards.
