Giampaolo reflects on positive season, targets improvement
Speaking after Sampdoria’s final game of the season, a defeat at home to Napoli, Marco Giampaolo shared his thoughts on the season as a whole.
“It’s been a wonderful year, full of satisfaction,” he said.
“Maybe we’ve allowed our level to drop slightly during this ending to the season, but that can happen. We’re bringing a good year to a close.
“We’ve put building blocks in place. Our aim now is to improve – through work in the transfer market and on the pitch,” he added.
The boss also paid tribute to the Samp fans: “The supporters have helped us win games. We’ve developed a degree of harmony with them. We want to keep on repaying them, for the affection they have shown us.
“We want to be ambitious. I have to thank the president for having allowed me to manage Sampdoria, a great club. It’s an extraordinary place.
“I thank the club and staff for the work they’ve done; everyone has worked quietly and with humility. That’s how I like it,” Giampaolo concluded.
