Emiliano Viviano undergoes successful knee surgery
Emiliano Viviano was at Villa Stuart in Rome on Monday for a scheduled arthroscopy which revealed damage to the meniscus in his left knee, caused by laxity of the anterior cruciate ligament.
In the presence of Dr Guido Damiani, the assistant to Sampdoria’s orthopaedist Dr Claudio Mazzola, Dr Pierpaolo Mariani proceeded to reconstruct the ligament and repair the damaged meniscus.
The operation lasted for around one hour and was a complete success. Once discharged from Villa Stuart, Viviano will return to Genoa to begin his agreed rehabilitation programme.
