Barreto and Budimir return to group training, afternoon session on Thursday

Marco Giampaolo’s Sampdoria squad were back at the Centro Sportivo Gloriano Mugnaini on Wednesday to continue preparing for Sunday’s trip to Rome to face Lazio.

The Blucerchiati focused on strength in the gym and out on the pitches, where the players also worked through some technique drills and tactical exercises. Primavera youngsters Ibourahima Balde, Jacopo Cioce, Andrea Tessiore and Michal Tomic joined in with the first team.

Edgar Barreto and Ante Budimir returned to group training, while Emiliano Viviano had a test session on the pitch. Patrik Schick received treatment and physiotherapy and did some work in the pool. Luis Muriel, Angelo Palombo and Jacopo Sala continued working on their recovery plans.

Samp will return to Bogliasco on Thursday for an afternoon session.
