Torreira full of regrets: “Missed opportunity; start of second half changed it”
Lucas Torreira summed up Sampdoria’s sense of frustration after losing to Sassuolo this evening, especially in view of the result in Florence.
“It was a must-win game,” the little Uruguayan said to Samp TV. “We wanted to close the gap on those above us. We didn’t do that, which is a shame, but we just have to turn the page.
“We did well in the first half and had chances other than the goal. The ten minutes at the start of the second half hurt us.
“We’ll be back in front of our own crowd next Sunday,” Torreira concluded, “and they’re our 12th man. We want a great result against Crotone.”
