Giampaolo set to ring the changes against Palermo
Marco Giampaolo has announced that he will make a number of changes to his starting line-up for Sunday’s match against Palermo.
With Sampdoria sitting comfortably in mid table – 20 points clear of the drop zone and seemingly too far away to reach the European spots – the boss is clearly keen to ensure no complacency creeps in among his charges.
“I’ll switch a few things around because I want to keep everyone on their toes,” Giampaolo explained during his pre-match media conference.
“I want people to feel involved and making changes means giving them an incentive to fight for their places. I want us to stay competitive and motivated.
“We have 13 matches to play and I’ll mix things up based on the opposition and the sort of game we have to play.”
The coach confirmed that Filip Djuricic and Luca Cigarini will start at the Stadio Barbera and highlighted the positive attitude shown by his players this week.
“We’ve got a good week’s training under our belts and as far as our performance is concerned, I’m sure we’ll turn up.
“Palermo need to win to maintain their hopes of staying up but we want to improve our own league position.”
