Praet elated after first goal and victory over Roma
Dennis Praet showed off his budding Italian skills having let his footballing quality do the talking against Roma. In his eighteenth Serie A appearance, the Belgian bagged his first goal for Samp in the 3-2 victory.
Speaking to the media after the game, he said: “Today was a wonderful day, for myself and the team. We needed to win and we got that here today, in front of our fans, against a top side like Roma.”
As for the best goal of the day, the Doria midfielder was unable to choose a favourite: “The most important thing was to take home the three points we needed. We played really well.”
“My new role? At Anderlecht I always played as a trequartista, never this far back. But I’m getting used to Italian football and to a different position, with more running and making sacrifices for the team. My aim is to score and to lay on as many assists as possible.”
