Group work for Sampdoria ahead of the Roma clash

The Sampdoria players were back in training at the Centro Sportivo Gloriano Mugnaini on Tuesday afternoon to begin their preparations for the visit of Roma. Paolo Vanoli, who is on Giampiero Ventura’s staff, attended Marco Giampaolo’s session.

The coach and his staff split the squad into two groups. Those heavily involved at Atalanta, plus Stanley Amuzie and Ricky Alvarez, worked on recovery in the gym and the pool. The rest had a brisk session on the show pitch, with three Primavera players joining up for training (goalkeeper Giacomo Piccardo and midfielders Jacopo Cioce and Andrea Tessiore).

Emiliano Viviano spent part of the session with goalkeeping coach Andrea Sardini, while Carlos Carbonero and Jacopo Sala had treatment and worked on their recovery programmes. The Blucerchiati will train twice on Wednesday.
