Giampaolo: “Learn from Roma and move on to Atalanta”
Marco Giampaolo has called on his troops to learn from their midweek cup defeat to Roma as they look to channel all available energy into what he expects to be a testing 90 minutes against Atalanta on Sunday.
Reflecting on Thursday’s Coppa Italia tie, the boss admitted that while there were positives to be taken from Samp’s first-half display, ultimately they were unable to stay the course against a superior side.
He went on to discuss the tactical and physical difficulties his players must overcome as they prepare to do battle with Gian Piero Gasperini’s high-flyers, and also spoke about his side’s ability to find a route to goal in response to observations that the goals have dried up somewhat of late.
