First workout ahead of Atalanta. Press conference and afternoon training on Saturday

Sampdoria began preparations for their trip to Bergamo with the squad split into two groups during training on Friday. Marco Giampaolo called a meeting in the video room first, before the players trained based on their playing time against Roma. Those who featured for the bulk of the match worked on recovery, while the rest had a normal session on the main pitch.

While Ricky Alvarez, Angelo Palombo and Fabio Quagliarella joined up with their team-mates for training, Edgar Barreto continued work on his individual programme. Carlos Carbonero, Jacopo Sala and Emiliano Viviano pressed ahead with their respective comebacks from injury. Christian Puggioni was given the day off.

The coach will hold a press conference tomorrow at 13:30 (live tweeting @sampdoria_en and highlights on Samp TV) before training.
