All eyes on Roma. First session in Bogliasco ahead of the Coppa Italia

Sampdoria began their preparations for the Coppa Italia last-16 earlier this morning. Marco Giampaolo ran a session on the show pitch at the Centro Sportivo Gloriano Mugnaini, splitting the squad into two groups.

Those who featured predominantly against Empoli worked on recovery in the gym and pool, while those not involved against the Azzurri played a series of specific high-tempo training games.

Emiliano Viviano continued his strength work in the gym, while Carlos Carbonero and Jacopo Sala pressed ahead with their individual recovery programmes. Edgar Barreto meanwhile is still receiving treatment and having physio.

The squad will meet for another training session on Tuesday afternoon.
