Sampdoria stick seven goals past Finale Ligure in training friendly
Marco Giampaolo’s Sampdoria side beat Serie D outfit Finale Ligure 7-1 in a training friendly in their final session of 2016 on Saturday morning.
With around 200 Samp fans watching on, Patrik Schick put Doria ahead on 27 minutes, finishing off a nice move from Fabio Quagliarella with a left-footed effort. Finale rallied and hit the post on the half-hour mark, but Schick struck again in the 37th minute with a cool lob over Porta.
After half time, Ante Budimir – who had replaced Quagliarella at the break – took just 60 seconds to make it 3-0, while Dennis Praet was there on 51 minutes to take advantage of a goalkeeping area and add a fourth.
A Spadoni own-goal made it 5-0 soon afterwards, while Budimir nabbed a quick-fire double on 69 and 72 minutes to secure his personal hat-trick and extend the lead to 7-0.
Sogno grabbed a consolation for the visitors late on, but there was to be no miraculous turnaround as Samp bade farewell to 2016 with an easy win.
