Depleted squad reports back to Bogliasco. Double workout planned on Friday
With the Christmas festivities now done and dusted, the Blucerchiati returned to Bogliasco on Thursday to kick off preparations for their first game of the new year, against Napoli on 7 January.
Working with reduced numbers, Marco Giampaolo had the squad do some gym work before taking them outside for drills on the top pitch at the Mugnaini.
Samp’s South American contingent – Edgar Barreto, Carlos Carbonero, Dodo Pires, Luis Muriel, Lucas Torreira and Matias Silvestre – plus Nigerian Stanley Amuzie remain away as they enjoy the last few days of their holiday.
Mirko Eramo and Milan Skriniar both missed training with flu and U17 midfielder Francesco Scotti joined the first team for today’s session.
Elsewhere Emiliano Viviano underwent tests and had treatment as he recovers from his injury while there was treatment and work in the pool for Jacopo Sala.
The Blucerchiati will train both morning and afternoon on Friday.
