Football Data, key stats on Sampdoria v Udinese
We’ve teamed up with Football Data to compile the key stats ahead of this evening’s clash between Sampdoria and Udinese.
- Marco Giampaolo’s Sampdoria squad have the fewest different Serie A scorers this season, with just five players finding the back of the net (Edgar Barreto, Bruno Fernandes, Luis Muriel, Fabio Quagliarella and Patrik Schick).
- On the other hand, Samp have a good record in terms of goals scored by substitutes, who have chipped in with six goals (three apiece for Bruno Fernandes and Schick).
- Barretto will make his 207th Serie A appearance if picked against Udinese, more than any other Paraguayan player. He’ll knock Dionisio Arce off the top spot – Arce played in Serie A between 1949 and 1960, turning out for Lazio, Napoli, Sampdoria (five appearances, no goals in the 1952/53 season), Torino, Novara and Palermo).
- Samp have scored in each of their last 13 competitive matches, for a total of 19 goals. The last time Doria drew a blank was the 2-0 defeat at Bologna on 21 September.
- Udinese have found the back of the net in every game they’ve played under Gigi Delneri, who has taken charge of ten matches after replacing Giuseppe Iachini seven games into the season. The Friulian outfit have scored 18 goal since Delneri took the reins, with the 3-0 home defeat to Lazio on 1 October the last time they failed to register a goal.
- Udinese are one of four teams to have had five penalties awarded against them in the first 17 matches of Serie A 2016/17. Cagliari, Lazio and Pescara are the other three teams on the same figure.
