Palombo: “Let’s finish the year with a win for our league position and fans”

He hadn’t started a Serie A match since 8 May. Yet Angelo Palombo certainly didn’t disappoint on Sunday despite the fact he was employed in a position – centre back – that he’s still trying to make his own, as seen in the recent Coppa Italia tie against Cagliari. “I don’t think I made any big mistakes,” said the captain when asked how he’s settling at the heart of the defence. “I can get better though. You just need to get used to it,” he continued.

“We were punished by two incidents which went against us but our approach wasn’t wrong,” said Palombo in reference to the defeat at Chievo. “We’ll try not to repeat those mistakes. We have our final match of 2016 on Thursday and we want to finish the year with a win for our league position and our supporters.”
