Sampdoria trained on Friday morning in the sunshine ahead of Sunday’s match at ChievoVerona. Marco Giampaolo sat down with the team in the video room first, before he and his staff ran a session on tactics and technique, with Fabio Quagliarella back in the group.

Ante Budimir and Lucas Torreira had individual tests on the pitch, while Bruno Fernandes followed a personalised programme. Carlos Carbonero and Emiliano Viviano continued their respective treatment plans meanwhile.
