Fernandes strengthens his case: “Delighted with the goal, I’m always ready to step up”
Bruno Fernandes is making a happy habit of scoring vital goals that bring Sampdoria back into games: today against Crotone was his third this season.
“I came on to help out the team,” the Portuguese No.10 said after the game. “We were in trouble and wanted to get back into the contest. I’m happy about the goal; it made sure we kept up recent results.”
There were some complaints over Fernandes’ tap-in, but the midfielder rubbished claims over its legitimacy.
“I don’t think there’s any need for a debate. There were two minutes and loads of passes from the substitution to the goal.”
Finally, Fernandes reiterated his commitment to the Blucerchiati cause after his latest match-changing contribution.
“I’ve said it before and I’ll repeat it now: I’m always ready to answer the call of the coach and the team, whether at the start of the match or midway through.”
