Star man Muriel tells Samp TV: “I can’t believe what happened”
The Sassuolo game looked to be going against Luis Muriel and the Blucerchiati. Yet the players showed massive desire to turn the match on its head in the space of just seven minutes.
“I’m pleased, not so much with my brace but above all because we managed to win an unbelievable match,” said Sampdoria’s top scorer. “I fed Quagliarella on the opening goal before he returned the favour moments later. Our understanding is improving all the time.”
The Colombian made light work of the match-winning penalty, despite the massive pressure on his shoulders. “I was relaxed when I stepped up, then I stuck it where I needed to. We didn’t deserve to lose and even at 2-2 we believed we could win. We know it won’t be an easy match at Crotone but we’re improving and we want to push on from our recent good results.”
