Prade attends first session on Wednesday with derby on the horizon

With Saturday’s Derby della Lanterna now just three days away, Marco Giampaolo gathered his Blucerchiati troops on the top pitch in Bogliasco on Wednesday afternoon to step up preparations for the much-anticipated encounter.

The squad worked on technical and tactical drills with the game against Genoa firmly in mind, before rounding off with a training match.

President Massimo Ferrero, club lawyer Antonio Romei, sporting director Carlo Osti and newly appointed technical director Daniele Prade observed proceedings from the sidelines.

Luis Muriel and Angelo Palombo completed the entire session with the rest of the team while Dodo Pires, Matias Silvestre and Fabio Quagliarella trained separately.

Elsewhere, long-term absentees Carlos Carbonero and Daniel Pavlovic continued their recovery programmes and Emiliano Viviano had treatment.

Samp will train behind closed doors on Thursday morning.
